Auxiliary

When construction of the Olmsted Community Hospital began in April, 1954, several women saw the need for a women’s Auxiliary. The first official Olmsted Community Hospital Auxiliary meeting was held on May 25, 1955, at the Public Health Center, with 28 women present. Mrs. Raymond Smith became the first president and Mrs. Duane Leqve was the secretary. Dues were set at $1.00. There were about 100 charter members.

In November, 1955, the Hospital Auxiliary voted to join the state organization, Health Care Auxiliaries of Minnesota (HCAM). The Auxiliary became a member of HCAM District F.

Today, our volunteer organization is known as the Olmsted Medical Center Auxiliary. We hold regular meetings on the fourth Monday of each month (except in July). Our members are dedicated to helping, in whatever ways needed, to make Olmsted Medical Center successful in serving the residents of Southeastern Minnesota.
