What's a Nurse Midwife?
Certified nurse midwives (CNMs) are health care providers educated in nursing and midwifery. Your OMC nurse midwife holds a license to practice in the state of Minnesota and takes part in continuing education to stay up-to-date and provide the best possible care.
Midwifery Services
Midwives specialize in giving support and routine health care to young girls and adult women. You can see a CNM for:
- Birth control and family planning
- Care during pregnancy and birth
- Health counseling and education
- Menopause care
- Treatment for common infections, such as urinary tract infections (UTIs), that affect a woman's reproductive system
- Yearly check-ups
Care During Your Pregnancy & Birth
Get hands-on care from the start of your pregnancy through birth from the expert OMC Midwives. Your midwife will provide you with:
High-Risk Pregnancy Support
If you have a high-risk pregnancy or problems during labor, your midwife will work with a doctor to protect your health safety.
