Liposuction

If exercise and healthy eating don’t eliminate excess fat in parts of your body, liposuction can help. This procedure removes fatty tissue from areas such as the breast and chest, cheek, chin, neck, arms, legs, abdomen, waist, hips, or buttocks. Doctors often perform this treatment in combination with other plastic surgery, including breast lifts.

Liposuction doesn't treat obesity, cellulite, or excess skin.

Is Liposuction Right for Me?

You may qualify for liposuction if you:

  • Are healthy
  • Don't smoke
  • Haven't had surgery on the area of the body you're considering for liposuction
  • Have a positive outlook

Tummy Tuck

Decrease fat, remove loose skin, and tighten muscles in your abdomen with a tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty. This procedure doesn’t substitute for weight loss, but can reshape your body after you lose weight, give birth, or receive medical treatment in your abdominal area.

Unlike liposuction, a tummy tuck realigns abdominal muscles as it removes excess fat and skin. View a short, animated tummy tuck video.

Is a Tummy Tuck Right for Me?

You can expect the best results of abdominoplasty if you:

  • Are generally in good health
  • Are moderately fit
  • Don't smoke
  • Have a positive outlook

Postpone surgery if you plan to get pregnant or think you may experience major weight changes for any reason.

Lower Body Lift

After dramatic weight loss, especially bariatric surgery, reduce excess skin and fat below the waistline with a lower body lift, or belt lipectomy. This procedure tightens the abdomen, hips, buttocks, and thighs. Following surgery, you may find it easier to move and exercise, and you might experience less chafing and fewer skin rashes.

Is a Body Lift Right for Me?

You may qualify for a belt lipectomy if you:

  • Are in generally good health
  • Don’t expect to experience major weight changes in the future
  • Don’t smoke
  • Have a positive outlook

Arm Lift

Reshape the underside of your arm—from the underarm to the elbow—with an arm lift, or brachioplasty. This procedure:

  • Reduces excess, sagging skin
  • Tightens and smooths the underlying supportive tissue
  • Decreases fat in the upper arm

Is an Arm Lift Right for Me?

Brachioplasty may benefit you if hereditary factors, age, or weight fluctuation make the skin under your arm appear to droop or sag. Exercise can’t fix this condition.
