Joint Replacement Surgery

Your surgeon will use the latest technology and least invasive option that will work best for you. This means you'll have smaller incisions to help you heal faster and have less pain. Choose OMC for:

  • Ankle replacement, to replace the ankle joint
  • Shoulder replacement, to replace the shoulder replacement
  • Hip replacement, to replace the hip joint with an artificial joint
  • Knee replacement, or knee arthroplasty, to replace damaged parts of the knee with an artificial (man-made) joint

The type of artificial hip or knee that will work best for you depends on your age, bone density, joint shape, and other factors. Watch patient education videos about different types of hip and knee replacement procedures.

Do I Need a Referral?

You'll need a referral from your primary care provider to see an OMC orthopedic surgeon. Your primary care physician will check your condition, may do imaging tests, and help you decide if surgery or another treatment is best for you.

Emergency Room Referral

If you get treatment for an orthopedic injury in the emergency room, your provider will give you a referral to an orthopedic surgeon if needed.
