General Surgery
At OMC, general surgery encompasses the surgical diagnosis and treatment of a broad spectrum of diseases and conditions. The team’s surgical expertise includes anatomy, physiology, metabolism, immunology, nutrition, pathology, wound healing, intensive care, and neoplasia.
OMC board-certified general surgeons perform operations and procedures, which may include routine screening, diagnostic techniques, injury repair, or tissue exploration.
Surgical procedures must be indicated by a primary care physician or specialist. In addition, patients may be referred for surgery from the emergency department.
Our general surgeons provide compassionate care, making patients feel comfortable and confident before procedures. The surgical team thoroughly prepares patients, answers questions, and addresses any concerns.
Specialty surgery services also are available in many areas, including bariatric (weight-loss), orthopedic (bone/joint), and plastic (cosmetic/reconstructive) surgery.
