Preventive Care
Take steps to protect your health.
Self-care
If you notice any changes in your breast, let your healthcare provider know. Watch for:
- A lump or firm spot in your breast or under your arm
- Changes in the size or shape of your breast
- Nipple discharge
- Redness, swelling, or scaly spots on your skin
Count on your OMC provider for information about lifestyle choices to prevent breast cancer and reduce risk factors.
Screening Tests
Talk to your primary care provider to create a personalized schedule for breast health screenings, such as clinical breast exams (CBEs) and mammograms. During a CBE, your doctor will check your breast for signs of a problem. A mammogram is an imaging test that uses X-rays to take pictures of the inside of the breast.
Diagnostic Services
Access mammograms and other diagnostic tests at OMC's well-equipped breast imaging facility.
