What’s a Gynecologist?

A gynecologist is trained in women’s health services and provides care to women of all ages. A gynecologist will monitor the health of your:

  • Breasts
  • Reproductive organs, including the uterus, fallopian tubes, cervix, ovaries, and vagina

    • Implanon/Nexplanon arm implant placement and removal
    • IUD (intrauterine device) placement and removal (Mirena IUD and Paraguard IUD)
    • Sterilization
  • Prevention and treatment of STIs
  • Preventive Pap smears & HPV tests, (Human Papillomavirus), screening tests to check the health of your cervix to detect changes that could lead to cancer
  • Surgical or pessary treatment for prolapse
