Weekend Childbirth Series Class
This series covers the same topics as our Four-week Childbirth Series in one Friday evening and full Saturday. It is perfect for parents whose schedules or hometown makes it hard to attend weekly classes.
Practical comfort skills, which include positioning and breathing, to be used during late pregnancy, labor, delivery, and beyond are taught by our experienced instructors.
Information about pain management options, understanding the labor process, and what to expect during your stay at OMC are part of this series. A tour of the BirthCenter is also offered at the end of the series.
Please sign up by your sixth month of pregnancy. Plan to wear comfortable clothing and bring two pillows to every class.
Thank you for registering for OMC Prenatal & Family Education Classes! Our classes are held in the
Founders Room of Olmsted Medical Center – Hospital, 1650 Fourth Street SE, Rochester, Minnesota. The Founders Conference Room is located off of the cafeteria. You may park in the front lot, and enter through the hospital’s main entrance.
Snacks and break times are provided throughout the class. You are encouraged to bring your own snacks and water/beverage bottle. Please wear comfortable shoes & clothing, since we will be practicing comfort skills for labor/birth. Four-Week Series and Comforts Plus Childbirth Series: Please bring two pillows.
The cafeteria offers a variety of lunch choices. You may buy lunch on Saturday or bring your own. We allow 30 min, in order to finish the class on time, so please plan on staying in the cafeteria for our lunch break. Vending machines are available for buying beverages. Ice water and coffee are free.
If you choose to pay with a check, please make it payable to “Olmsted Medical Center.” Tell us the name of your insurance provider, as it may determine the amount of coverage for class payment. You may send payment to our office or bring it with you to class. Scholarships are available for all classes. We will not turn anyone away because of inability to pay.
