Vaccination Appointments at OMC
From infancy to adulthood, vaccines work with your body's natural defense system to safely help you develop immunity to a number of serious diseases.
Influenza
OMC is now offering both the 2024-2025 traditional flu vaccine as well as the senior (high-dose) vaccine. Influenza (flu) is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat, and lungs. Some people, such as people 65 years and older, young children, and people with certain health conditions, are at higher risk of serious flu complications. There are two main types of influenza (flu) viruses: types A and B. The influenza A and B viruses that routinely spread in people (human influenza viruses) are responsible for seasonal flu epidemics each year.
The best way to reduce the risk of flu and its potentially serious complications is by getting vaccinated each year.
Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)
OMC is currently offering the RSV vaccine for eligible patients 60 years of age and older – patients should talk to their primary care provider to determine eligibility.
Respiratory syncytial (sin-SISH-uhl) virus, or RSV, is a common respiratory virus that usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms. Most people recover in a week or two, but RSV can be serious. Older adults are more likely to develop severe RSV and need hospitalization. Vaccines are available to protect older adults from severe RSV.
COVID -19
OMC is now offering the 2024-2025 COVID-19 vaccine. More information about COVID-19.
Can someone get the Pfizer COVID-19 booster and the flu vaccination at the same time?
